Are you are concerned about your mental health, well-being or your life after football? The organisations and services listed below can provide you with support and advice. 

Professional Footballers Association (PFA)

The PFA provides members with a 24/7 counselling telephone helpline. This support is available to all members past and present.

In addition PFA members can access a nationwide network of counsellors, many of whom have played professional sport and understand the emotional roller-coaster that this entails.

All services are private and confidential.

 

Professional footballers association scotland (PFAS)

PFA Scotland have been tackling the issue of mental health in football for a number of years working alongside a range of organisations to provide confidential support to their members.

The services offered range from phone advice, face-to-face assessment, medical support, clinical psychology and counselling.


SPORTING CHANCE

Sporting Chance supports individuals and organisations across professional sport to address emotional welfare and addictive disorders.


Life After Professional Sport (LAPS)

LAPS is the career resource platform for current and former sports professionals and elite athletes.   

Sport professionals are highly sought after by employers in a huge number of sectors. The very characteristics that have put them at the top of their sports career are the same traits employers find desirable.

There are thousands of rewarding careers out there, and LAPS has been set up by sports and recruitment experts to help connect sports professionals with organisations who wish to employ former elite athletes.

XPRO is an organisation that has been established to assist former professional footballers of all ages post career. 


Strive 2 Thrive

Strive2Thrive offers a range of tailored solutions to help players and clubs optimise performance and achieve their potential.

Strive2Thrive offer one-to-one coaching and therapy sessions, group-based interventions and the supervision of therapists.

The Strive2Thrive team is led by Dr Ross White (BPS Chartered Clinical Psychologist, HCPC accredited Practitioner Psychologist) who is an ACBS Peer Reviewed Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Trainer.
